The Court of Appeal has directed the CID not to arrest Pastor Jerome Fernando on arrival at the Airport and to enable him to provide a statement to the CID within 48 hours after his return to the country.
The CID wanted to record his statement over a controversial statement regarding Buddhism.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that unilateral action by the UK and other countries in imposing sanctions on certain individuals do not assist but serve to complicate the national reconciliation process underway in Sri Lanka.
