A crucial round talks regarding Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring will take place today, State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said.
The Finance Ministry along with Central Bank officials will hold discussions with representatives of countries involved in Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring, the IMF and the World Bank.
Last week the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security, Sagala Ratnayake met with the outgoing IMF Resident Representative for Sri Lanka, Tubagus Feridhanusetyawan and the incoming IMF Resident Representative, Sarwat Jahan on Oct 27.
Meanwhile President Ranil Wickremesinghe an event earlier this week said that the IMF relief may be further delayed.
He said that there were delays in dealing with China and India.
