The Election Commission has requested the Power and Energy Ministry to release an additional fuel quota for candidates contesting the upcoming Local government elections.
Chairman of the Elections Commission Nimal Punchihewa told the media that he has already taken up the matter with the Ministry as the current fuel quota was not sufficient for candidates.
The Political parties too earlier requested the Commission to secure an additional fuel quota as the weekly 20ltr quota was not sufficient.
