Energy sector to be developed in East: Minister Kanchana
A discussion was held with the Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara together with the Governor of the Eastern Province, Senthil Thondaman, to develop the energy sector in the Eastern Province.
The government has plans to utilize the natural resources of the Eastern Province to develop both onshore and offshore wind power and ground-mount solar, which will help with the integration of renewable energy and green hydrogen development.
The Governor assured his fullest cooperation to develop the sector with the necessary approvals and land identification.
