Showers or thundershowers could be expected at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts during day and night.
Despite that, mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.
In the meantime, the general public is advised to take adequate preventative measures to ensure safety of themselves from damages within reach triggered by strong gusts and lightning during thunderstorms.
Showers or thundershowers are to look for at several sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Hambanthota via Galle and Matara.
A few showers could also be predicted in sea areas off the coast extending from Pottuvil to Trincomalee via Batticalo.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be revolved around 25-35 KMPH and might shoot up to 40-45 KMPH subsequently in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
Hence, the sea areas off the coast widening from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island would be slightly moderate.
