Advanced Level (A/L) studies for pupils who are taking the examination will begin as soon as the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Exam is concluded, according to the Minister of Education Dr. Susuil Premajayantha.
As a result, the Minister said that A/L lessons for the students who took the G.C.E. O/L Exam in May 2024 will begin in the first week of June.
He added that this will be carried out as part of the initiative to make up for coursework missed and exams missed because of the previous Covid-related school closures.
Schoolchildren and their parents will express interest in the new program, Minister Premajayantha noted.
According to the Ministry of Education, a student's athletic prowess will not be a criterion for admission to intermediate classes at any government-approved private school or school.
Going forward, pupils will only be admitted for intermediate grades if they follow the guidelines outlined in the upcoming pertinent circular.
According to the Ministry of Education, principals have received the appropriate guidelines in this respect.
