President Ranil Wickremesinghe underlined that students in the country will not be allowed to be held hostage by various groups while addressing the national ceremony where free textbooks and uniforms were distributed to students, by the Education Ministry, President’s Media Division (PMD) stated.
He further emphasized if trade union actions further disrupt the education of students, the government is on the brink of interposing as it would negatively be linked to students’ development.
