The District Hospital of Haputale, located in the Haldummulla area, is currently in a bad state.
As the mortuary building has been completely destroyed, dead bodies have to be transferred to
to the Diyathalawa Hospital, and the dependents have to bear the transportation cost of the body.
Further, the hostel for the staff in the hospital is on the verge of collapsing due to the building's weak structure.
The construction of a new building in the hospital has been abandoned for a few years after beginning.
