The Department of Meteorology has predicted that the heavy rainfall in the southwestern part of the island is expected to gradually decrease.
Occasional showers or thundershowers are forecasted in the Northern Province, with some areas likely to experience fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50mm.
Several spells of rain are also expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
A few locations elsewhere will see evening or night-time showers or thundershowers, the Met. Departement added.
