President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today ceremonially opened the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament this morning (18).
The President and the First Lady were welcomed on the main steps of Parliament by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake and other senior Parliament officials and escorted inside.The students of President's Girls' College, Sri Jayewardenepura then recited Jayamangala Gatha at the main entrance of the Parliament Building in welcoming the President.
The President also delivered his Government's Policy Statement at the ceremonial opening.
