In Pictures: Minister’s assurances ignored as motorists rush to filling stations over fuel shortage fears
Despite Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila's assurances that the closure of the Sapugaskanda oil refinery for 50 days would not result in a fuel shortage in the country, long lines started forming by last evening outside many filling stations as panicked motorists rushed to fill up the tanks of their vehicles.
