Despite Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila's assurances that the closure of the Sapugaskanda oil refinery for 50 days would not result in a fuel shortage in the country, long lines started forming by last evening outside many filling stations as panicked motorists rushed to fill up the tanks of their vehicles.
