The Socialist Youth Union (SYU) held a protest opposite the Human Rights Commission today condemning the Government's alleged attempts to intimidate those who speak out against deforestation.
The protest was held following alleged Government attempts to intimidate a young female contestant who appeared on a popular quiz programme of a private television channel, after she used the opportunity to speak out against alleged environmental destruction around the Sinharaja Rainforest and surrounding area.
