Issuing of vehicle revenue licenses in Western Province has been temporarily suspended for two weeks from today (13) till October 26, Western Province Chief Secretary Jayanthi Wijetunge said.
The suspension comes following frequent system failures since recently causing inconvenience to the public. Therefore the computer system, handled by Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) will be fully updated during the two weeks’ time, Ms. Wijethunge said.
Meanwhile, licenses that were expired from July to September and will expire in October will be able to renew between October 26 and November 30, while licenses expiring in November and December this year can get their licences till December 31.
The Chief Secretary said revenue licenses that expired since August 12 have been given a relief period till December 31.
