Kilinochchi Magistrate Courts remanded 33 Indian fishermen who were arrested for engaging in illegal bottom trawling near Iranithivu, Kilinochchi till February 5.
The fishermen along with three trawlers were arrested yesterday (26) by the Navy in the early hours and later handed over to officials of the Fisheries department for further legal action.
The arrested fishermen were produced before acting Magistrate S. Sivabalasubramaniyam who issued an order to remand them until February 5.
