Buddhist devotees attending Kiri vehera today to mark Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day - the first Poya Day of the new year complained that they faced inconvenience due to the new police barrier at the entrance of the temple.
Thousands of devotees attended the temple to engage in monthly almsgiving. Several devotees told the media that some police officers did not allow them to take their offerings and they had to plead with them in order to take dana -offerings to the temple.
When asked, the incumbent of Kirivehera, Ven. Kobwaka Dhamminda
