The Special Commodity Levy on imported potatoes has been increased by Rs. 30, Ministry of Finance said.
The new levy will be Rs. 50 per kilogram for a period of six months.
This move is expected to help local farmers.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
