MP Wasantha Bandara complains against Minister Keheliya

SLPP Member of Parliament Wasantha Yapa Bandara has lodged a complaint to the Assistant Elections Commissions office in Kandy against  Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella on allegations of misusing state property for election campaign activities

Mr Bandara, Kandy district leader of the Freedom People’s Alliance (Helicopter) Saturday submitted a written complaint to the Assistant Election Commissioner that Minister Rambukwella was making use of the official residence,  the ‘Malabar house’  for election propaganda activities.

He claimed  that local council presidents were called for the election campaign meeting and all of them have utilized government vehicles to attend the meeting there.

The residence was given to the Minister after his private residence located at Bahirawakanda was set on fire during the ‘Aragalaya campaign’ last year.

Mr  Bandara, told the media that if government property was being used for the election campaign it was illegal.
