There will be multiple shower spells in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western provinces today (5), according to the Department of Meteorology.
A few locations elsewhere will see evening or night-time showers or thundershowers, the Met. Departement added.
Meanwhile, most parts of the country have experienced flooding due to the unfavorable weather, causing damage to rural roadways.
The President has ordered that around Rs. 3 billion be set aside for the prompt repair of roads damaged by the recent flood as a result of unfavorable weather circumstances, according to State Minister for Rural Roads Development Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan.
