The Navy arrested two people engaged in light-course fishing in the Chandikulam sea area in Jaffna on 30 April. This search operation further led to finding of two dinghies and unauthorized fishing equipment.
This search operation was carried out by the Naval detachment of Chundikulam in the Naval deployment of Veththalakerni under the Nothern Naval Command.
The suspects are residents of Pudukuduirippu area, aged 21 and 26, the Navy stated. They were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector in Jaffna for further investigations.
