Two suspects who were allegedly transporting 141 kilograms of Kerala Ganja were taken into naval custody in Karainagar, Jaffna.
The navy made the discovery after intercepting a suspicious fishing boat along the coast of Eluvathivu in Karainagar.
The navy suspects that the stock of Kerala Ganja had been smuggled to the north via sea from India. They estimate its value to be over Rs 20 million.
The suspects are residents of Pesalai in Mannar. They have been handed over to the Kayts Public Health Inspector's office to undergo quarantine.
