According to the State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, a new Property Tax is expected to be implemented starting in 2025.
In light of this, efforts have been made to execute the applicable tax in 2025 in line with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) guidelines, he said.
That said, State Minister Siyambalapitiya clarified that those who hold substantial amounts of property are expected to pay the new Property Tax.
