A new political alliance known as ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ consisting of seven parties and groups was launched today.
An agreement was signed among the parties and groups today morning.
The party and group representatives who signed the agreement were Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (Udaya Gammanpila), Mawbima Janatha Party (Dilith Jayaweera), Democratic Left Front (D.V.D. Thialakasiri on behalf of Vasudeva Nanayakkara), Jathika Nidhas Peramuna (Wimal Weerawansa), Indepdent MP’s Forum (Prof Channa Jayasumana), Communist party (G.Weerasinghe) and the Yuthukama National Organisation (Gevindu Kumaratunga).
