Nine kilo grams of narcotics were detected in the unclaimed baggage section of the ‘Cargo Village’ at the Bandaranaike International Airport during an inspection, Airport officials said.
A joint operation by the Customs and the Police narcotics division the checks were carried out.
The narcotics were in seven parcels which had arrived from USA, UK, Canada and other countries and sent to non-existing addresses in Sri Lanka. Nobody turned up to collect the parcels.
They contained seven Kilos of ICE, 1.1 Kgs of Kush and 1.3 Kgs of another drug.
