The acceptance of nominations for the 2024 General Election officially concluded today, the Election Commission (EC) said.
The EC has designated a period until 1:30 p.m. today for the submission of any objections regarding the nominations, said the Election Commissioner Saman Sri Ratnayake.
Mr. Ratnayake, announced that information on expenditure limits for candidates will be provided in due course, in accordance with the Election Expenses Regulation Act.
As of yesterday, 147 political parties and 94 independent groups have submitted their nominations.
The Parliamentary Election is set to take place on November 14, 2024.
