Ocean University student drowns off Chilaw
A student of the Ocean University drowned while bathing in the sea off Chilaw, Police said.
The student Deemantha Jayalath, 25 was on a family trip with some 60 others. They were residents of Rambukkana.
The student had gone missing on Saturday while bathing at a location close to the Chilaw rest house.
A group of fishermen in Iranawila, Ambakandawila recovered the body on Sunday. The postmortem is due to be held today.
