A suspect who allegedly aided an abetted the attempted murder of a woman at the Lakhiru Sevana housing complex in Dematagoda has been taken into custody.
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) is currently conducting investigations into the attempted murder, where assailants had tried to hack a woman to death using sharp weapons on June 10 this year.
A 23-year-old resident of Wellampitiya who police claim aided and abetted the crime by providing a motorbike to the assailants and had conspired with them was arrested by the CCD yesterday along with 5.4 grams of 'Ice' from the Methsara Uyana housing complex in Colombo 08, Police Media Unit stated.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court today.
