The Cabinet has decided to suspend a previous system of calling for international tenders to dispose of discarded items of the Sri Lanka Railways and Sri Lanka Transport Board.
Cabinet Spokesman Vijitha Herath said that accordingly tenders will be called only from local persons.
He said the decision has been taken in order to meet the requirements of local industrialists.
