Students will be required to sit only one term test for the year from 2024 in schools, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
He said the objective was to reduce the burden on students while introducing a new system to monitor student performance.
He said that under the new system separate marks would be given for the monthly performance.
"The ultimate objective would be give 50 per cent of the marks from the performance and the remaining from the term test", Minister Premajayantha said while addressing an educational event.
