Over 163,000 cannabis plants grown in 2 acres, 3 acres and 2.5 acres of land in the Yala Reserve in Monaragala District were seized and burnt today.
Upon information received by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Corps, the raid was conducted in collaboration with the Officers of Kataragama Wildlife Office.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
