Forty three (43) members of the former parliament received compensation amounting to Rs. 1.224 billion for damages caused to their properties and other losses during the “Aragalaya” protests in 2022, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa told in Parliament today.
The highest competition amounting to Rs. 95.9 million was paid to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. Other recipients include Prof. Channa Jayasumana (Rs. 3.3 million), Seetha Arambepola (Rs. 13.7 million), Prasanna Ranweera (Rs. 32.7 million), and Nimal Lanza (Rs. 69.2 million).
