Over one million persons (1,081,303) have been administered with the third dose (booster) of the Pfizer vaccine since October 21, the Epidemiology Unit said.
The Unit said 44,838 people got the booster dose yesterday (8). At present frontline health workers, elderly persons and those with health conditions are given the booster jab.
Twenty-eight people have died from COVID on Tuesday, the Director General of Health announced yesterday. This increases the total deaths from the virus to 14,533. Majority of the deaths were persons above 60 years old and suffering from long-term ailments. Yesterday also recorded 757 COVID positive cases.
