A passenger who travelled on the roof of an over-crowded train has fallen off and died at Horape, today morning, Railway officials said.
The train was heading from Kandy to Colombo.
The incident occurred while a strike by railway employees was underway from midnight yesterday.
At least 36 train trips have been cancelled due to the strike.
