The Department of Pensions will begin distributing the monthly interim allowance of Rs. 3,000 to all pensioners starting today (16), as directed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
After addressing delays, the Treasury has allocated Rs. 2,021 million to cover 679,960 pensioners this month.
Pensioners receiving payments through banks will have the funds credited today, while those receiving payments through post offices and sub offices can access their allowance starting on October 18, according to the President’s Media Division.
