The People’s Bank of China approved yesterday a 10 billion Yuan currency swap with Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing said.
Sri Lanka Ambassador to China, Dr. Plalitha Kohona welcomed the arrangement and stated that this is a welcome expression of confidence in Sri Lanka's economy and an encouragement of prospective investors further energising Sri Lanka's economy, the embassy said in a statement.
He appreciated the efforts made by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the People’s Bank of China for finalising the formalities remotely.
