A proposal to make it mandatory for the Law College students to answer examinations in the English language is to be differed by three years, Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said today.
Minister Rajapakshe told Parliament that the decision would officially announced shortly.
He was responding to a question raised by the Opposition MP Wimal Weerawansa over the change in the system.
Earlier Mr Weerawansa raised the issue Parliament about Gazette which had been issued during former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s tenure regarding a proposal made by then Minister of Justice Ali Sabry making it mandatory to answer Law College examinations in English.
He pointed out that students from the outstations will be affected by the decision.
