Two Constables from the Police Lifesaving Unit who were on duty at Panadura beach managed to rescue an adult and four children who were swept out to sea by a rip current last afteroon (12).
The two Constables, identified as Pushpakumara (69651) and Dasun (91046) managed to rescue the group of persons who were swept out to sea.
The rescued persons were two male children aged 9 and 12, two female children aged 14 and 17 and a 23-year-old adult male.
The rescued persons were handed over to their relatives after administering basic first-aid.
