Police have launched a search for a gunman and his accomplice who robbed a shop in the Economic centre at Meegoda after shooting and injuring the cashier today morning.
The two men who arrived on a motorcycle in the early hours of morning.
They had first opened one of the drawyers with cash and taken away Rs 45,000. Thereafter they had demanded the key for the second drawyer and the cashier had said she did not possess the key.
The gunman had opened fire at the cashier who suffered injuries.
The Administrative Secretary of the Economic centre claimed that the Police who were in the guard post had arrived 15 minutues after the incident.
Police are using CCTV footage to locate the two suspects and sought public help to arrest them.
