Postal voting for the 2024 presidential election commenced today (4). The postal voting will continue tomorrow (5) and on the day after (6).
The Election Commission (EC) had earlier allocated the period from September 4 to 6 for government employees, Special Task Force (STF) and police personnel who are to be deployed for duty on election day, to cast their postal ballots.
Accordingly, the facility to cast postal votes will be available to staff at District Secretariats, EC offices, offices of Senior DIGs and DIGs, SP and ASPs, police stations, STF camps, special police units and VIP security divisions.
Those who are unable to cast their postal ballots during this period can vote at their respective District Secretariat or EC office on September 11 and 12.
A total of 712, 321 persons are eligible to cast their postal vote at this year's election.
