Power purchase agreement for the 100 MW Ground Mount Solar project in Siyambalanduwa was signed by Rividhanavi (Pvt) Ltd with CEB today, Minister Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara said.
He explained that the ground mounted Sloar power project is expected to produce 219GWh annually. The Investment is expected to be USD 132 Million.
The project would be carried out in an area around 219 hectares, is to be operated as a BOO project. Transmission line is 27.5km, 132kV from Siyambalanduwa to Monaragala Gramasewaka Divitions.
Rividhanavi (Pvt) Ltd. is a consortium of shareholders, Lakdhanavi Ltd., Windforce PLC and The Blue Circle PTE Ltd of Singapore. Investment is expected to be USD 132 Million.
Transmission infrastructure is to be built on Build & Transfer basis. Contract period is 20 years. Energy price is USD cents 8.00/kWh flat for 20 year period.
This has a battery for the purpose of Ramp control. Initial capacity is 12.5 MWh. This is only for smoothing out the sudden fluctuations of power output so as to limit it within 3% per minute.
