President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed shock and sadness over the tragic loss of life, injuries & and devastation caused by a series of earthquakes in Turkey.
The President’s office said he conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people of Sri Lanka to the Government and people of Turkey, particularly the families of the grief-stricken and wished those injured a quick recovery.
He said SL remains in solidarity with the people of Turkey and stands ready to assist with a contingent of military personnel for the rescue operations.
The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Dayasiri Jayasekera in a condolence message said he was extending his heartfelt sympathies to the Government and Turkish families over the loss of life and destruction.
