A gazette notification has been issued bringing the Ministerial portfolio of Environment under President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The post of Minister of Environment fell vacant after former Environment Minister Naseer Ahamed lost his seat in Parliament following the Supreme Court ruled that the decision by his party Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) to expel him was valid.
