The Presidential election will be held on September 21, the Commission of Elections has decided.
Accordingly, nominations for the election will be accepted on August 15.

Nominations for the elections will be accepted at the Election Commission office, Sarana Mawatha Rajagiriya. A candidate from a registered political party will have to make a deposit of Rs 50,000 and other candidates Rs 75,000 each.
