President Ranil Wickremesinghe has placed his deposit to contest the September 21 Presidential election as an independent candidate, Presidential sources said.
Accordingly, President Wickremesinghe will be contesting from a common front, independently, instead of coming from a main party.
The deposits to contest the Presidential election is being accepted at the Election Commission from 8.30 a.m onwards today.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
