The hearing was in connection with two of the 22 cases pending against Sanjeewa, the Department said in a statement.
The Court had directed that Sanjeewa be present in person for the hearing, the statement said.
Since he is a special category suspect, he was produced under adequate security by prison officers. He was transported from Boosa along the Southern highway with members of the Prisons Emergency Action Tactical Force and the Police Special Task Force providing protection.
The Prisons Department said its conducting a separate investigation into the incident.
