Panadura South Police have commenced investigations into an incident where several Buddha statues surrounding the Chaithya of a temple in Panadura South were allegedly damaged last evening (17).
Initial investigations have revealed that a woman who is said to be mentally ill who frequents the area had been seen leaving the temple. Police said they suspect that she may have been responsible for the incident, Police Media Unit said. Further investigations are ongoing.
