Senior Professor Kapila Seneviratne was appointed as the new Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) today.
He was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Kelaniya in March 2022.
Former Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunga and board members were requested by the government to step down.
