The registration of five National Associations/Federations have been temporarily suspended by Sports Minister Harin Fernando.
Sri Lanka Archery Association, Sri Lanka Kabaddi Federation, Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation, Sri Lanka Bridge Federation and Sri Lanka Roller Skating Association’s registration have been suspended in a gazette extraordinaire.
Professor (Rear Admiral) Shemal Fernando, Director General of the Department of Sports Development has been appointed as the competent authority with effect from 21.12.2023 as a temporary mechanism to proceed with administrative and other activities and to call and conduct relevant elections, the Minister stated in the gazette.
