President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has paid a surprise visit to the Kerawalapitiya Litro Gas terminal this afternoon (Thursday) amidst reports of removing Litro Chairman Theshara Jayasinghe, official sources said.
He has ordered the Treasury Secretary Sajith Atygalle to immediately withdraw the letter sent by him to the Company Secretary of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd requesting to remove Litro Chairman Theshara Jayasinghe and nominate Renuka Perera as the new chairman, the sources said.
He has issued this directive over the phone to the Treasury Secretary when the staff of Litro asked about the removal of Mr. Jayasinghe from the chairman’s post as he was unaware about such a decision. (Bandula)
