Revised personal income tax rates will come into effect from January 01, 2023, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said
Accordingly a person who earns between Rs 100,000 Rs 150,000 has to pay Rs 3500 taxes monthly while a person who earns over Rs 150,0000 to 200,000 have to pay Rs 10,500 as income tax payments.
Apart from that people who earn between Rs 200,000 to 250,000 have to pay Rs 21,000 while persons who earn exceeding salaries between RS 300,000 to 350,000, 350,000 to 400,000, 450,000 to 500,000, 500,000 to 750,000 and 750,000 to 1000,0000 has to pay taxes Rs 35,000, 52,500, 70,500, 106,500, 196,500 and 286,500 respectively.
Meanwhile persons who earn a monthly salary up to Rs 100,000 would be exempted from the tax.
