Richard Nuttal, 73 years, currently the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of SriLankan Airlines, has been promoted the post of CEO of the airline from January 1, 2022, airline sources said.
Mr. Nuttall, an aviation industry specialist with over three decades of experience, has held various senior management positions at many leading airlines and entities.
Mr. Nuttall has a wealth of experience, having held CEO, CCO and board member positions in entities across 5 continents, with an exceptional record of delivering turnaround and driving sustainable growth.
However industry sources said his reputation had been tainted when Bahrain Air had been declared bankruptcy in 2011 with Mr. Nuttall holding the post of CEO of the airline at that time. (Bandula)
